Four-storey new build
Client: Hurstmore Services Limited
Architect: GD Architects
Location: Lymington, Hampshire
Project: Demolition of previous dwelling & construction of new build house
Hurstmore is in the exciting process of constructing this impressive £1 million new build. Having demolished the original two-storey house on the site, the builders are now creating a stunning, state of the art four-storey dwelling.
The first stage of the project – construction of the large basement is complete. The 213m2 basement has five storerooms and the space to house four cars. There is a large driveway descending into the basement and a garage that will be constructed in the house’s external grounds.
The house itself will spread across four storeys. Above the basement, the first floor will boast six free-flowing rooms, including a tv room, lounge and study. There will be three bedrooms and three bathrooms, and a large walk-in wardrobe on the second floor. And a further bedroom with ensuite, and a kitchenette, will take up the top floor. The house will also have a lift operating from the basement to the top floor.
Using sustainable materials was a priority on this build. The external walls of the house from the first floor upwards are being constructed using Durisol ICF. The client chose to use Durisol because of its green credentials, ease of use and time-saving potential.
The house’s façade will be white render with architecturally designed, glass-panelled doors and timber – aluminium windows. A wrought iron porch will create a canopy over the front door.
This house is being built in Lymington, in the heart of the New Forest. It is subject to the strict planning regulations that ensure the sustainability of the character and beauty of the environment. The intelligent design will integrate the house into the local surroundings while ensuring it stands alone as a beautiful family home in its own right.
