Durisol built clubhouse opening
The Durisol built clubhouse officially opens later this month when owners, Vernon and Liz Hill, are welcoming all visitors to come and take a look at the new facilities on the outskirts of Wells.
Built by Vernon and his son Alex, the new 1,200-square metre clubhouse incorporates a restaurant, relaxed seating area, offices, and three meeting rooms, which are available to hire. There is also a 25-metre indoor air rifle shooting range in the basement and a shop that has a vacancy for a tenant.
Before the new build, the business operated out of seven portacabins and a drafty old cattle shed. Durisol was used to construct the entire structure and Vernon and Alex laid every one of the 3,500 blocks themselves. They only employed external contractors for the outside rendering and electrical work.
Vernon said: “This two-year project was a labour of love and we’re delighted to have finally completed the long-awaited clubhouse. We now have fantastic inside accommodation that matches the high standard of our extensive range of outside shooting facilities. We can’t wait to show it off at the weekend and officially open the clubhouse.”
The open weekend is being held on Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 September. There will be a short ribbon cutting ceremony at 11 am on Saturday and a 100 clay English Open Sporting competition on both Saturday and Sunday. Representatives from Durisol will be at the clubhouse over the weekend to provide further information to anyone who is interested in Durisol.
